Jarred Up x Sidney and Matilda Presents:
New Candys
Concocted with the darkest deviant rock'n'roll ethos and distinctive melodic distortions, New Candys have established themselves as one of the most compelling bands to emerge from Italy in recent years. Founded by songwriter and singer-guitarist Fernando Nuti alongside bassist and synth player Dario Lucchesi, the lineup is completed by Emanuele Zanardo on lead guitar and backing vocals and Francesco Giacomin on drums and sampler.Signed to the cult record label Fuzz Club, the band is recognized for its unfiltered artistic approach and versatility, seamlessly blending aggressive, gritty sounds with dreamy, introspective tones. The symbolism of their hometown, Venezia, often permeates their music, which explores surreal and sometimes cryptic themes.New Candys' live shows have gained them a reputation as a must-see act, growing a fanbase through extensive touring across Europe, North America and Australia. Festival appearances include SXSW, Treefort Music Fest, Psycho Las Vegas, Levitation France, Fuzz Club Eindhoven and Liverpool Psych Fest, as well as headlining the Sydney and Melbourne Psych Fests and recording live sessions for KEXP and Jam In The Van. They’ve shared the stage with icons like The Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Dandy Warhols and The Black Angels, performing at historic venues such as the Olympia Hall in Paris, The Roundhouse in London and Huxleys Neue Welt in Berlin. Iggy Pop described them as "kinky", and their songs have been featured in episodes of Showtime’s original series Shameless.

Gal Go + Rhiannon Hope
TICKETS
Gal Go (Ignacio Salvadores) is a multi-instrumentalist and producer born in Argentina and based in London. Recording and mixing everything in his home studio under the pseudonym Gal Go, Salvadores first came to wider attention as a key collaborator with Archy Marshall - he was one of the driving forces behind King Krule’s Mercury Prize - nominated The OOZ and has been cited as a central influence on Man Alive! and Space Heavy.
Pitchfork praised his debut suite vacío fuego as “a burst of passion that’s mysterious and striking” Pitchfork, and his latest work continues to expand that vision. On 11 April 2025 he returned with Clos lentos, a six-song EP that “evokes an airy yet intimate atmosphere filled with a saturated lo-fi heaviness” Melodic Magazine
This spring, Private Regcords will be taking Gal Go on a Northern run of shows across their favourite UK venues, bringing his richly textured live performance - where he switches effortlessly between guitar, saxophone, keys, and programming - to Hyde Park Book Club in Leeds, Sidney & Matilda in Sheffield, and The Peer Hat in Manchester.

Sidney & Matilda Presents:
Dead Slow Hoot + Junk
Much has changed since Dead Slow Hoot formed in Sheffield in 2014. After feeling limited in his prior life as an “acoustic singer songwriter type”, frontman Hugo Lynch stumbled upon new friends and collaborators whilst playing in his University gospel choir and attending “otherwise uninspiring rock society jam sessions”. Luke Featherstone, Sam Webb, Dom Lo, Emmett Cruddas and Tom Featherstone were welcomed into the fold in the ensuing years as, inspired by J Tillman’s transformation from six-string-wielding troubadour to spotlight-bothering bandleader Father John Misty, Lynch set about forming Dead Slow Hoot; a band that ten years later, following support shows with Big Thief, Billy Bragg and Slow Club, is still evolving, learning and, crucially, revolving around his uniquely therapeutic and optimistic songwriting. Now, in 2025, the band are set to release the finest work of their career to date, a staggering and seismic album, overflowing with melodies, heart and storytelling which calls to mind some of the band’s biggest influences: Bruce Springsteen, Titus Andronicus and Car Seat Headrest.

Heathen Apostles
Born of the voices of past lives and baptized in the dust bowl dirt, the Gothic Americana music of the Heathen Apostles (Mather Louth [Radio Noir], Chopper Franklin [The Cramps, Nick Curran & the Lowlifes], Thomas Lorioux [Kings of Nuthin’] and Luis Mascaro) harkens back to a bygone chapter of American history. Using contrasting influences such as Bauhaus, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds and The Pogues along with Howlin’ Wolf, Loretta Lynn (the band covers her classic Fist City) and Bessie Smith, the Heathen Apostles have created a style of music that at once conjures both angels and demons, and will enlighten a darkened soul.
Gothic Americana is a genre that is fast taking hold around the world, in that it combines the sub-genres of gothic country & bluegrass, dark blues, murderfolk and depression-era jazz. The Heathen Apostles are amongst the first to inject all four into their incendiary music.

The Warlocks
TICKETS
Jarred Up x Sidney & Matilda Presents:
The Warlocks
Led by guitarist/singer Bobby Hecksher, who has remained the group's sole constant member over the years, the Warlocks are a Los Angeles-based band who retrofit Nuggets-style garage rock, British shoegaze, drone, and Velvet Underground-inspired art-rock into a contemporary frame. Emerging in the late 1990s, the band issued their debut album, Rise and Fall in 2001, and refined their neo-psychedelic sound on subsequent releases like Surgery (2005), The Mirror Explodes (2009), and Mean Music Machine (2019). Hecksher and his collaborators added new instrumental flavors for 2023's In Between Sad, a song cycle inspired by the death of Hecksher's brother.
Born in Florida, Bobby Hecksher grew up on a steady diet of rock & roll -- his mother worked at a radio station owned by his grandfather -- and in the late '80s he moved to California and soon formed his first group, Charles Brown Superstar, who issued two singles and two full-length albums before calling it a day. Hecksher was later invited to play on Beck's 1994 Stereopathetic Soul Manure, and then, with James Ambrose, he formed Magic Pacer, who waxed two albums for Win Records before Hecksher splintered off to do follow his own muse. Hecksher was also briefly a member of the Brian Jonestown Massacre, led by kindred spirit Anton Newcombe.
Over the course of several years and many personnel changes (a constantly changing lineup being one of the group's trademarks), Hecksher eventually formed his eight-piece band, calling them the Warlocks, a moniker that had been previously used by early incarnations of both the Velvet Underground and the Grateful Dead. While no one would mistake them for Deadheads, the Warlocks' earliest recordings often sound like they're channeling a fever-soaked version of the Velvet Underground circa White Light/White Heat, while drawing further influence from space rock, prog, and Krautrock bands, most notably Neu! and Hawkwind.
The Warlocks subsequently emerged as leading lights on the Los Angeles music scene in 1999-2000, and in October 2000 Hecksher signed with America's oldest indie label, the Burbank-based Bomp!, who issued their self-titled debut EP in late 2000. In the fall of 2001, Bomp! released the Warlocks' first full-length album, Rise and Fall, and Hecksher and company jumped ship for another noted indie, Birdman Records, for their next album, 2002's The Phoenix Album. In some territories, The Phoenix Album was distributed by the respected British label Mute Records, and Mute teamed with the Warlocks to issue 2005's Surgery. Surgery's sales didn't meet Mute's expectations, and after a one-off return to Bomp! for 2006's Destroy and Rebuild, the Warlocks ended up at the stoner-friendly Teepee Records, in part through the help of Anton Newcombe.
After cutting two albums for Teepee, 2007's Heavy Deavy Skull Lover and 2009's The Mirror Explodes, the Warlocks took time off from recording while Hecksher formed his own label, Zap Banana Records (whose logo was a canny reference to the iconic artwork from the first Velvet Underground album). Hecksher launched the label with an expanded reissue of the Rise and Fall album, packaged with a bonus disc of rare tracks (including the Warlocks' version of "Cocaine Blues," from the soundtrack of a short film by Hecksher that featured a cameo appearance by Rivers Cuomo of Weezer). In 2013, Hecksher unveiled his latest lineup of the Warlocks with a new album for Zap Banana, Skull Worship. In 2016, Hecksher and the Warlocks -- now a six-piece with an impressive four guitarists -- teamed up with Cleopatra Records to release Songs from the Pale Eclipse. Vevey, a concert album recorded during the band's European tour in support of the LP, arrived the following year.
In 2019 the band issued Mean Music Machine, which drew inspiration from Stereolab, Krautrock, and death rock. 2020's The Chain was a concept album built around the story of a couple on a crime spree and their dealings with the justice system. That same year, Fuzz Club Records issued Live At Webster Hall NYC (March 6, 2006), a limited-edition vinyl pressing of a concert in support of Destroy and Rebuild. In March 2020, Hecksher's brother died after a long struggle with cancer, a loss that had a profound effect on him and his creative process. While mourning his sibling's loss, Hecksher wrote the songs that would become 2023's In Between Sad, a personal work that reflected the darker side of the Warlocks' sound while also adding touches of electronic instrumentation, including '80s synthesizers and drum machines. Following the release of In Between Sad, the Warlocks set out on an extensive tour of Europe and the United Kingdom. ~ Bryan Thomas & Mark Deming, Rovi

Debut album 'Poems & Non Fiction' Out June 2025—a major waymark for a powerful songwriter who weaves deeply evocative narratives and potent meditations, with an artistry that balances delicacy and strength. Forged by her experiences as a disabled woman and a life-long sense of otherness, she explores the beautiful mess of existence, challenges social norms and ignites a journey towards self-acceptance, empowerment and perhaps most importantly, hope. “ I have surprised myself with the raw honesty in these songs and I hope these stories inspire healing and growth ”. Working with acclaimed producer John Parish (PJ Harvey, Aldous Harding) and influenced by artists like Adrienne Lenker, Fiona Apple and Moondog, the songs are rich with poetic nuance and the unconventional insight of a young life lived to capacity—a mesmerizing blend of analogue and angular indie-folk that gives as much attention to silence as sound, with understated yet muscular grooves. Shimmering between the abstract, the archetypal and the naked truth, meaning lingers just beneath the surface, daring listeners to both reach out and dig deep; to give emotion a solid, tangible shape.

Leadmill Presents: Andrew Cushin
TICKETS
Championed by Noel Gallagher, Pete Doherty, Sam Fender and Louis Tomlinson, Andrew Cushin lived up to the hype with his debut album ‘Waiting For The Rain’, which spent three weeks at #1 on the Official Independent Album Breakers Chart while surging into the Top 10 on the Independent Albums and Record Store Charts. He also became an increasingly big draw in the live arena, particularly in his hometown of Newcastle where he became the youngest Geordie to sell-out the City Hall with 4500 people in attendance over two nights, before subsequently headlining the big outdoor Tyne of the Mouth Festival last summer.
Just as ‘Waiting For The Rain’ introduced a bigger, bolder sound from that of his early EPs, ‘Love Is For Everyone’ again sees Andrew pushing his sound into new territory. That expressive, all-feeling voice still dominates and brings his relatable and poignant autobiographical lyrics to life. This time, however, the music’s scale is amplified further, taking in a diverse array of influences and setting the stage for his singer-songwriter roots to crash headfirst into mainstream awareness. The album was produced by Gareth Nuttall, who has helped The K’s and Lottery Winners rise from cult level favourites to the upper reaches of the charts.

The Utopia Strong
TICKETS
Sidney & Matilda Presents:
The Utopia Strong
+ Andrew Liles
Call it synchronicity, call it happenstance, call it no more than
three friends getting together to give their speakers a workout.
Yet The Utopia Strong’s formidable conflagration of
psychedelic radiance and beatific harmony has evolved way
beyond all or any expectations since the band’s inception..
‘International Treasure’ chronicles the collaborative collision
of Steve Davis, Kavus Torabi and Mike York heading into
unchartered psychic territory, seemingly with nothing but their
instincts as co-ordinates.
What’s resulted is a step beyond anything either band or
audience might have expected - a deeply rewarding voyage
into inner space which moves into darker and still more
evocative sound-worlds whilst remaining fundamentally off
the map. Influences know no bounds in this context, and the
listener would be forgiven for locating the atmospheres and
soundscapes of this album on some sonic promontory above
and between the potent abstractions of Tim Hecker, the
improvisatory excursions of The Necks, and the gothic allure
of Bohren Und Der Club Of Gore.
‘International Treasure’’ is the next chapter in a story which
only grows more rewarding with every stop along the way -
one in which three heads travel together deeper into their own
musical journeys, and the resulting alchemical power
transmutes its origins into gold. As no less a sage than
Andrew Weatherall proclaimed, The Utopia Strong are
“gnostic sonics in a nutshell”.

A relentless pursuit of truth runs through each of her albums, from the devastating beauty of bones you have thrown me and blood i’ ve spilled (2015), which won the Scottish Album of the Year Award, to the grief-stricken intensity of from when i wake the want is (2018), and the haunting for you who are the wronged (2022), a powerful reckoning with abuse in all its forms.
Now, Kathryn embarks on a new chapter with her fourth album, WE WERE MADE PREY., set for release on 30 May via Rock Action Records. Recorded in the remote Black Bay Studio on the Isle of Lewis, the album explores the collision of want and loss, self-fulfillment and shame, embracing a newfound intensity—bigger, angrier, and full of want.
Joining forces with Lomond Campbell, Kathryn’s delicate yet visceral sound continues to evolve, seamlessly blending intimate, unfiltered lyrics with rich, atmospheric layers of piano, keyboards, and electronic elements. Their long-standing collaboration has been instrumental in pushing her music into darker, more experimental territory, amplifying the raw emotional power at its core.
Reflecting on the album’s transformation in the studio, she says, “The songs were angry, but in a small way. Until Lomond added all this beautiful noise, and suddenly they were angry in a much bigger way, in an exciting way, and so full of want.”

Strange Days: SCALER
TICKETS
Based in Bristol, UK, SCALER (fka SCALPING) are a four-piece band: Isaac Jones on drums, James Rushforth on bass guitar, Nick Berthoud on guitar and Alex Hill on electronics. For the last five years, SCALER have been writing, recording and performing music together, trying to answer the question that guides their work; “How can a band bridge the gap between live guitar music and live electronic music?”
The new single “LOAM” marks a new chapter for SCALER. Having connected with one another following the release of their highly praised 2022 debut album “Void”, the band’s collaboration with Daniel Avery sees the band lean further into their club and dance-based influences. Combining adrenaline fuelled rhythms with euphoric synths that ebb and flow around their heavier sensibilities.
Speaking on the single, SCALER says "When the opportunity to work with Daniel Avery came up we obviously jumped at it; we’ve been fans of his for a long time and working on these tracks with him really helped us be more decisive, to trust our gut and not overcomplicate things."

Keyside
TICKETS
Liverpool four-piece KEYSIDE blend classic Northern guitar-pop sensibilities with emotionally charged storytelling and a sound that’s fast becoming their own. Led by frontman Dan Parker – his unmistakable Liverpudlian lilt carrying both grit and grace – their songs are rich in feeling, full of melody, and grounded in real-life experience.
Their lyrics don’t shy away from difficult truths – touching on everything from isolation and addiction to hope and redemption – yet the band’s instinct for a soaring hook gives their music its unique pull. Tracks like 'Angeline', 'Nikita', and 'Runaway' have marked them as natural songwriters, winning praise and support across BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing, Radio X and Amazing Radio.
Onstage, KEYSIDE have built a reputation for raw, joyful live shows. Their first UK headline tour sold out at a blistering pace, followed by standout support slots with Blossoms, Royston Club, Mantra of the Cosmos and Shed Seven. Festival highlights include YNOT, On The Waterfront and Salt ’n’ Tar.
Their latest single 'Michael (What’s Your Call?)', produced by Chris Taylor (The Coral, Blossoms), channels the ambition of The Stone Roses and the urgency of Fontaines D.C. – a clear sign KEYSIDE are not just rising, they’re arriving.

Brudenell Presents: The Vaselines
TICKETS
The Vaselines were formed in Edinburgh in 1987 by singer/guitarists Eugene Kelly and Frances McKee, who were later joined by Kelly's brother Charles on drums and James Seenan on bass. Soon signing to Pastels frontman Stephen Pastel's newly formed 53rd & 3rd label, the Vaselines embarked on their first-ever studio session, which yielded their debut single, 1987's fantastic "Son of a Gun."
The follow-up, "Dying for It," appeared a year later, with the inclusion of viola player Sophie Pragnell plainly acknowledging the band's debt to the Velvet Underground. The demise of 53rd & 3rd proved fatal to the Vaselines as well, however, and the group dissolved the same week its lone studio LP, 1989's Dum-Dum, was released via Rough Trade, although the following year the original lineup briefly reunited to open for Nirvana in Edinburgh. Nirvana would go on to cover the Vaselines' "Molly's Lips" and "Son of a Gun" (both later compiled on their Incesticide collection) as well as perform "Jesus Doesn't Want Me for a Sunbeam" on their legendary MTV Unplugged appearance.

Parker Fans
Dutch trio Parker Fans channel the energy of your favorite cassette mixtape, translating it to a
boisterous pop sound that leans on the foundation of drum samples, synths and ultra groovy bass to
shuffle styles with a magpie’s spirit. The main directive is simple and altruistic: get people to dance
their bleeding hearts out.
Appearing at festivals like Best Kept Secret, Left of the Dial, Into The Great Wide Open and Eurosonic
– as well as shows with Altin Gün, Pip Blom and Jungle By Night – Parker Fans built themselves a
reputation for maximum mayhem – in grubby clubs and bigger festivals alike and every reputable and
questionable establishment inbetween. Aware of the futility of having too much fun, their infuriatingly
catchy songs survey the stirrings of nightlife through a cracked lens.
