Sidney & Matilda Presents:

Kathryn Joseph

Known for her fearless storytelling, raw emotional depth, and unflinching honesty, Kathryn Joseph has made a lasting mark on contemporary music. A relentless pursuit of truth runs through each of her albums, from the devastating beauty of bones you have thrown me and blood i’ ve spilled (2015), which won the Scottish Album of the Year Award, to the grief-stricken intensity of from when i wake the want is (2018), and the haunting for you who are the wronged (2022), a powerful reckoning with abuse in all its forms.

Now, Kathryn embarks on a new chapter with her fourth album, WE WERE MADE PREY., set for release on 30 May via Rock Action Records. Recorded in the remote Black Bay Studio on the Isle of Lewis, the album explores the collision of want and loss, self-fulfillment and shame, embracing a newfound intensity—bigger, angrier, and full of want.

Joining forces with Lomond Campbell, Kathryn’s delicate yet visceral sound continues to evolve, seamlessly blending intimate, unfiltered lyrics with rich, atmospheric layers of piano, keyboards, and electronic elements. Their long-standing collaboration has been instrumental in pushing her music into darker, more experimental territory, amplifying the raw emotional power at its core.

Reflecting on the album’s transformation in the studio, she says, “The songs were angry, but in a small way. Until Lomond added all this beautiful noise, and suddenly they were angry in a much bigger way, in an exciting way, and so full of want.”

Sidney & Matilda Presents:

The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown

Arthur Brown is synonymous with his 1968 hit “Fire” and the Hammond-driven “Crazy World” line-up which spawned it. However, his ‘God of Hellfire’ burned out fast and, in 1970, he returned with a new project: the prog-festival freak-show Kingdom Come followed by a varied solo career. Those initial four band albums, by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown and by Kingdom Come are thrilling, as tend to be Brown’s cameos on other peoples’ projects.

Best known for his flamboyant theatrical performances and his powerful, wide- ranging operatic voice. He has been a major influence on a wide range of musicians due to his outstanding vocal ability and wild stage persona and concepts. He is considered a pioneer of shock rock and progressive rock and influential on heavy metal music.

When you watch Aaron Rowe on stage, he anchors himself behind the mic, broad shouldered and wide eyed whilst telling stories. Song histories, personal anecdotes or just random thoughts and funny observations are blurted out with erratic but effortless charm. His smile is so sunny and wide it feels permanent and his laugh is hoarse, warm and totally infectious.

When he speaks his eyes glisten, but when he sings, they close as his head lulls onto his shoulder and tilts back. For Aaron, singing and playing guitar is not a choice, it’s an extension of himself - he has to do it. You can tell as soon as he begins it offers him not only freedom, but focus.

Jarred Up Presents:

Hotel Lux

Once contenders for the mantle of Britain’s most self-conscious band — guilty, by their own admission, of pandering to audiences’ tastes following their move from Pompey to London — Hotel Lux have crafted an identity that is truly their own on bold debut album ‘Hands Across The Creek’. But in 2020, the roots of Hotel Lux’s transformation were soon in place. The band’s classic influences — Dr Feelgood, The Stranglers, Ian Dury — meshed with the sounds of artists like Neil Young, Brian Eno and The Waterboys, and, in the end, Hotel Lux found themselves “doing the whole ‘haha, that’s what the fourth album will sound like’ thing” on their first, they say. They decamped to The Wirral, with Bill Ryder-Jones (The Coral; Arctic Monkeys) as multi-faceted influences, £20 Casio keyboards and marauding song structures fell into place. Lead single ‘Common Sense’ was influenced by ‘80s group the Beautiful South and inspired by the RMT strikes, trade union leader Mick Lynch, and the media’s treatment of Jeremy Corbyn. It’s a rhythmic anthem full of funk bass, machine gun snares and clattering guitars reminiscent of Television or Glasgow icons Orange Juice. It's the band’s most euphoric and danceable single to date. With ‘Hands Across The Creek’ set for release in early 2023, Hotel Lux look set to become something their early critics might have not foreseen: a band full of confidence, with the ability to transcend their peers and carve out their own corner of British music tapestry.

Based in Bristol, UK, SCALER (fka SCALPING) are a four-piece band: Isaac Jones on drums, James Rushforth on bass guitar, Nick Berthoud on guitar and Alex Hill on electronics. For the last five years, SCALER have been writing, recording and performing music together, trying to answer the question that guides their work; “How can a band bridge the gap between live guitar music and live electronic music?”

The new single “LOAM” marks a new chapter for SCALER. Having connected with one another following the release of their highly praised 2022 debut album “Void”, the band’s collaboration with Daniel Avery sees the band lean further into their club and dance-based influences. Combining adrenaline fuelled rhythms with euphoric synths that ebb and flow around their heavier sensibilities.

Speaking on the single, SCALER says "When the opportunity to work with Daniel Avery came up we obviously jumped at it; we’ve been fans of his for a long time and working on these tracks with him really helped us be more decisive, to trust our gut and not overcomplicate things."

An Evening with John Cambridge Hosted by Garry Burnett

Talks, Stories, and Q&A with David Bowie's original drummer

Evening with John Cambridge

Bowie, Cambo & All the Hype traces the extraordinary and pivotal friendship between David Bowie and drummer John Cambridge, from the time when Bowie made his first major career breakthrough in 1969 to his death from cancer in 2016.

Drummer, musician and friend John ‘Cambo’ Cambridge lived with Bowie at Haddon Hall when he had his first hit record ‘Space Oddity’ and toured with him in Junior’s Eyes. He was there for him at many key moments – when Bowie lost his father, passed his driving test, played his first Glam Rock gig with Hype, even acting as best man when Bowie married Angela Barnett in 1970.

And if John had not persuaded his former Rats colleague and friend Mick Ronson to join Bowie in February 1970, there might never have been a Ziggy Stardust or the stellar career which followed.

At this special evening with John Cambridge, the author of Bowie, Cambo & All The Hype, we get a backstage pass to key people and events during those crucial early years and will hear, up close and in person, the heartfelt stories of this unique friendship.

Jarred Up Presents: This Will Destroy Your Ears

TICKETS

Jarred Up Presents:

This Will Destroy Your Ears

This Will Destroy Your Ears were born in 2018 in the southwest of France and hit the UK roads straight away, sharing stages with USA Nails, JOHN, and Black Midi. That first tour—in a battered Renault Master affectionately nicknamed Georges by the Brits—set the tone: loud, raw, no-nonsense, and fiercely DIY.
In 2019, the band recorded their debut album CLEAR with Dorian Verdier (JC Satàn) and Boris Lehachoir in their self-built Angresse HQ, pARPAINg, before having it mixed in London by Wayne Adams (Petbrick, Green Lung). It was released on their own label, Cowboy À La Mode. Moving back and forth between the French and UK scenes, This Will Destroy Your Ears kept gigging, collaborating, and growing. In 2022, they took part in À TOI À MOI, a 12″ split celebrating “musical mingling,” alongside Shoefiti (FR), The Eurosuite (UK), and Naguals (UK).
That same year, they received support from The Inspector Cluzo and hit the road again (with LIFE, among others), releasing their second album Everybody Knows Mickey, recorded with Henri D’Armancourt (Steve Amber, The Psychotic Monks), mixed by Alex Greaves (Heavy Lungs, LICE), and released via Cowboy À La Mode, À Tant Rêver Du Roi (FR) and Brutalist Records (UK). The album was warmly received on both sides of the Channel and drew attention from the French national press.
From 2022 to 2024, the trio played extensively alongside bands like Slift, METZ, Frustration, Pogo Car Crash Control, PENICHE, and Stuffed Foxes, refining a live sound that’s raw, noisy, sometimes tender — and always loud. Because yes, This Will Destroy Your Ears love people… they just tend to tell them a bit too loudly. Meanwhile, they built Recording United, their own studio nestled in the heart of Kontainer, a multidisciplinary hub in the Landes — part Warhol’s Factory, part Death By Audio’s DIY activism.
Their third album, FUNLAND, is the first to be entirely recorded there. Inspired by their UK tours — and especially the decaying Technicolor charm of Blackpool — the album takes its name from a run-down amusement park: a magical mess of dying slot machines, sad clowns, and buzzing neon. A pop nightmare postcard, somewhere between David Lynch and Stephen King.
Produced and mixed by Ben Hampson (DITZ, Lambrini Girls) and mastered by Katie Tavini (Bloc Party, Los Bitchos), FUNLAND will be released on October 10, 2025 via Luik Music (BE), À Tant Rêver Du Roi (FR), Cowboy À La Mode, and Conicle Records (on cassette, of course).

KING EFFERS (SHEFFIELD PUNKY REGGAE) - HEADLINERS

In 2019, having got fed up with censorship and silly social media algorithms, Sheffield’s long standing politico-punks The F*kwits changed their name to King Effers, perhaps a little easier on the tongue.

Mr Keef and Chris (The F*kwits) were joined by Tank (Freekspert) on drums, and Muzz (Artery/Faerground Accidents) on bass. With a love of all things punk, reggae and rocksteady it was only a matter of time before the sound turned into a highly-charged punky reggae party.

Having toured the UK and Germany and negotiated the perils and pitfalls of the covid lockdowns, the band finally managed to procure enough studio time and complete the recordings of what would become the first King Effers album entitled ‘Soap Box’, to be released on Holy Dotage Records on Dec 1st 2023

Line up:

Mr Keef – Vocals & Guitar
Guitar Chris – Guitar & B-Vocals
Muzz – Bass & B-Vocals
Tank – Drums & Percussion.

Jarred Up Presents:

Naima Bock

The roots of Naima Bock’s music are deep and far reaching. Born in Glastonbury to a Brazilian father and a Greek mother, Naima spent her early childhood in Brazil before eventually returning to England, bouncing around various homes in South-East London. This muddled heritage combines with more recent pursuits in Naima’s music; from the Brazilian standards (Baden Powell, Chico Buarque, Geraldo Vandre, Cartola, etc.) that the family used to listen to driving to the beach, to the European folk traditions she tapped into on her own, and the pursuits that interest her today – studies in archaeology, work as a gardener, and walking the world’s great trails – Naima’s music draws from family, the earth and the handing down of music through generations.

The creation of Naima’s debut album Giant Palm began in her move back to the UK, though the music is undoubtedly infused with the Brazilian music of her youth and regular family visits – she found inspiration in, “the percussion, the melodies, chords - and particularly the poetic juxtaposition of tragedy and beauty held within the lyrics”. By the age of 15 Naima was embedded in the music scene of South-East London, going to gigs at The Windmill in Brixton, slotting into a group of like-minded friends writing and playing music. This led to the creation of Goat Girl, the band she toured the world with playing bass and singing alongside her school friends. After six years, with a desire to try something new, Naima decided to leave Goat Girl. In the intervening years she set up a gardening company and started a degree at UCL in archaeology because, as she jokes, “I liked being near the ground”. During this time, she was still writing music, playing guitar, and learning violin. In this time, she was introduced to producer and arranger Joel Burton through Josh Cohen and his label, Memorials of Distinction. Joel was becoming frustrated with his band Viewfinder, and was keen to expand his musical limits. Over the time he and Naima worked together, Joel’s burgeoning interest in Western Classical music, global folk music, experience in large scale arrangement and orchestration informed the collaborative process that eventually culminated in Giant Palm.

Naima had been writing songs for a number of years without any strong idea of where to take them. However, over a gradual process of rehearsing and performing with Joel, the compositions began to settle into something more concrete. It wasn’t until restrictions began to ease post-lockdown that they were able to focus on getting the songs finished and recorded. Fortunately, Dan Carey of Speedy Wunderground offered his spare studio space in Streatham, free of charge. Informed by a desire to create music that was considered and intentional, they spent the month leading up to the recording expanding the arrangements, to be performed by a large and varied group of musicians - with Joel scoring parts and recording the synth and electronic elements in advance. Once they managed to schedule slots for the more-than 30 musicians on the record - the expansive yet delicate arrangements were brought to life and captured with the help of engineer Syd Kemp.

Within Naima, somewhere below the songs she’s created herself, sits an exhaustive bank of traditionals. The kinds of songs whose creator has been long lost and have evolved steadily in any number of directions. Be these Brazilian family favourites or those rooted in British folk tradition, Naima loves the collective voice of songs that belong to everyone. She often surprises even herself in the ease she’s able to call them to mind. She’s recently found a home for this passion in her role in the ever-shifting line-up of South-London folk collective Broadside Hacks, but it’s long been a way for her to explore her own artistry. She learned to play guitar and violin through these songs, but she also found her voice in them. “All the other representations that I’d had of singing felt so unattainable” she recalls, but in folk music she found that singing can take on so many forms without the need to exactly replicate something. Here qualities that make her voice unique were able to flourish: the impressive range, and ease with which she traverses scales and changes styles were able to roam more feely. This is present all through her music, as well as a feeling of community and the sharing of ideas. Though studio time restrictions meant things had to be planned down to the minute, once in the room all formality dissipated - none of the players on Giant Palm sound like they’ve been shipped in to play a role and this the key to the warm and welcoming nature of the music.

As for the songs themselves, each comes from a place of earnest and open-hearted vulnerability. Written over the space of years, each of Naima’s songs represents a snapshot of a specific feeling, of brief moments in Naima’s life that make up a larger whole. “I never change lyrics” she says, “even if I don’t relate to them anymore, I related to them once which means someone else could, somewhere”. Once written, the songs are left untouched in the hopes that the raw specificity of isolated feelings are easy for people to lock onto and recognise in their own lives. Whether that’s in the playful humour of ‘Campervan’, the peaceful exhale of ‘Giant Palm’ or in the darker moments like in the stark, self-critical honesty of ‘Every Morning’, whatever the form it’s always laid bare.

There’s also a feeling of clarity to the songs, which Naima largely credits to the fact that many of them were written while walking. She finds inspiration in the meditative and revealing nature of long walks with a fixed but far-off destination. Something she’s also found in the slow-reveal of archaeological digs and the methodical work of gardening. “There’s a stripping away that takes place”, she says, the clearing of the fog in the brain and slowing of thoughts by the rhythm of walking is often to thank for the sharp focus of her lyrics. Be that during a period of three years where she would return to Spanish pilgrimage network Camino de Santiago for weeks at a time, or simple hours spent in the English countryside. “The most beautiful part of it for me was walking through the city” she says of her time in Spain, “you get the industrial bit at the start and then the middle section and you have to just walk straight through it, through the suburbs. You see all this progression of humanity and then you get back into nature at the end of it”. Giant Palm never rushes. It allows itself the time to enjoy the wide-open spaces, the claustrophobic streets, or the minute details along the way, safe in the knowledge that the destination is somewhere over the horizon.

HotWax are a band set on experiencing life at its most intense. In the past two years, the Hastings-via-Brighton trio – comprising Tallulah Sim-Savage (vocals/guitar), Lola Sam (bass), and Alfie Sayers (drums) – have toured extensively, including shows with and , and festival appearances at Reading & Leeds and All Points East. Out of this comes debut album Hot Shock (out now on Marathon Artists), a record of adrenaline-jolted anthems about abandoning fear and leaping towards the future.

The band recorded live at London’s RAK Studios, perfectly capturing the ‘explosion of colour’ energy of a HotWax show. The band worked with an all-female production team, Catherine Marks (, ) and Steph Marziano (, ), with additional recording in Joshua Tree, California.

Sim-Savage recalls how Marks was drawn to HotWax after an intimate gig at the Blue Basement in July 2023. “It was the sweatiest gig we’ve ever done – packed,” she says. “Afterwards, Catherine said, ‘I need to record your album. It needs to feel like a party.’”

These songs were made to be played loud and with abandon, but also have a vulnerable pulse underscoring them. It's this balance that could propel HotWax to become the UK’s next big crossover rock act.

Elephant Kind

Every band has global ambition, but few lack the desire to move 7000 miles across the world
to realise it. Summer 2022 saw Elephant Kind move from Indonesia to London to explore the
next chapter as a band, starting a new era on the other side of the globe.
"This is the dream of every Indonesian artist, probably most artists in the world, like
everyone that we love moved to London at some point and writing here, it means a lot to us."
says Bam Mastro, frontman and founder of the group.

Elephant Kind was formed in Mastro's bedroom in Perth, Australia over a decade ago, acting
as an outlet to express himself creatively, a purely introspective project that was more for
himself than anyone else before moving to Indonesia. Now in 2022, the band is a three piece
with four projects to their name, hundreds of thousands of monthly listeners across the globe
and a firmly cemented place as one of Indonesia's most beloved alternative outfits. Their
fresh take on alternative indie has earned them critical recognition and acclaim both at home
and globally, constantly building year on year as their worldwide ambition comes into fruition.

The Orb

The Orb virtually invented the electronic genre known as ambient house, resurrecting slower, more soulful rhythms and providing a soundtrack for early-morning ravers once the clubs closed their doors. Frontman Dr. Alex Paterson's formula was quite simple: he slowed down the rhythms of classic Chicago house and added synth work and effects inspired by 1970s ambient pioneers and . To make the whole a bit more listenable -- as opposed to danceable -- obscure vocal samples were looped, usually providing a theme for tracks that lacked singing. The Orb's Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld, their 1991 debut album, was hailed as a watershed moment for electronic music. The group popularized the genre by appearing on the British chart show Top of the Pops and hitting number one in the U.K. with the 1992 album U.F.Orb. The Orb managed to remain signed to throughout the '90s, even as they were releasing some of their most challenging work (Pomme Fritz, Orbus Terrarum). During the 2000s, the group became affiliated with German techno label , home to solo recordings by Orb member ; Okie Dokie It's the Orb on Kompakt, one of their most straightforward techno releases, appeared in 2005. Jarred Up Presents...

Gently Tender

Rising from the ashes of Palma Violets, Gently Tender first begun as a reminder for Sam
Fryer – once, the vocalist in one of South London’s most-hyped bands – to treat himself
more softly. Joined by his former Palmas bandmates Will Doyle and Pete Mayhew, along
with The Big Moon’s Celia Archer and guitarist Adam Brown, the band’s long-awaited debut
album ‘Take Hold Of Your Promise!’ has been five years in the making, and marks a return to
something slow and careful, rooted, and soulful. Produced by Matthew E. White, it glimmers
with gospel choirs and warm bursts of horn, unearthing a spiritual kind of acceptance in the
process. The world may be a burning trash-pit, and the work of striving to be a better person
will never end. But in Gently Tender’s universe, at least, there’s a precious sliver of hope to
be found; even in the dark shadows, you’re never watching the flames rage alone.

Sidney & Matilda Presents:

The Utopia Strong

+ Andrew Liles

Call it synchronicity, call it happenstance, call it no more than
three friends getting together to give their speakers a workout.
Yet The Utopia Strong’s formidable conflagration of
psychedelic radiance and beatific harmony has evolved way
beyond all or any expectations since the band’s inception..
‘International Treasure’ chronicles the collaborative collision
of Steve Davis, Kavus Torabi and Mike York heading into
unchartered psychic territory, seemingly with nothing but their
instincts as co-ordinates.

What’s resulted is a step beyond anything either band or
audience might have expected - a deeply rewarding voyage
into inner space which moves into darker and still more
evocative sound-worlds whilst remaining fundamentally off
the map. Influences know no bounds in this context, and the
listener would be forgiven for locating the atmospheres and
soundscapes of this album on some sonic promontory above
and between the potent abstractions of Tim Hecker, the
improvisatory excursions of The Necks, and the gothic allure
of Bohren Und Der Club Of Gore.

‘International Treasure’’ is the next chapter in a story which
only grows more rewarding with every stop along the way -
one in which three heads travel together deeper into their own
musical journeys, and the resulting alchemical power
transmutes its origins into gold. As no less a sage than
Andrew Weatherall proclaimed, The Utopia Strong are
“gnostic sonics in a nutshell”.

Leadmill Presents: Andrew Cushin

TICKETS

Championed by Noel Gallagher, Pete Doherty, Sam Fender and Louis Tomlinson, Andrew Cushin lived up to the hype with his debut album ‘Waiting For The Rain’, which spent three weeks at #1 on the Official Independent Album Breakers Chart while surging into the Top 10 on the Independent Albums and Record Store Charts. He also became an increasingly big draw in the live arena, particularly in his hometown of Newcastle where he became the youngest Geordie to sell-out the City Hall with 4500 people in attendance over two nights, before subsequently headlining the big outdoor Tyne of the Mouth Festival last summer.

Just as ‘Waiting For The Rain’ introduced a bigger, bolder sound from that of his early EPs, ‘Love Is For Everyone’ again sees Andrew pushing his sound into new territory. That expressive, all-feeling voice still dominates and brings his relatable and poignant autobiographical lyrics to life. This time, however, the music’s scale is amplified further, taking in a diverse array of influences and setting the stage for his singer-songwriter roots to crash headfirst into mainstream awareness. The album was produced by Gareth Nuttall, who has helped The K’s and Lottery Winners rise from cult level favourites to the upper reaches of the charts.

Jarred Up Presents: Wine Lips

Jarred Up Presents:

Wine Lips

It’s been one hell of a wild ride for Wine Lips.

Originally formed in Toronto back in 2015 as a part-time project between Cam Hilborn (vox, songwriter, guitar) and drummer extraordinaire Aurora Evans, Wine Lips quickly escalated into a full-blown, full-time, full-on international phenomenon. Their debut album took them across North America followed immediately by an intensive and unexpected tour of Hong Kong and China in 2018. They released their massive “Stressor” album the very next year (2019) to rave reviews and massive critical acclaim. Multiple tracks from Stressor charted across North American and European radio, while several songs ended up being featured in broadcast and Netflix series. Endless touring ensued.

Then 2020 happened. The band used their mandatory downtime to fully dedicate themselves to crafting their groundbreaking third full-length “Mushroom Death Sex Bummer Party” (recorded by Simon Larochette at The Sugar Shack). The record was released in October 2021 and then shit really hit the fan. The international music press lost their collective minds, penning over 250 glowing features and super positive reviews spanning 35+ countries. At the time of writing, the album is rapidly approaching 20 Million spins on Spotify alone. The vinyl release of MDSBP is currently in its 7th pressing with 9 different colour variants. The lead track “Eyes” has been licensed to a metric ton of films, series and video games including ABC’s The Rookie, Hockey Night In Canada and Population 11. Even more endless touring ensued, except this time the venues were huge and mostly sold-out.

Which brings us to the new record… “Super Mega Ultra” is an absolute beast. Recorded by Simon Larochette at The Sugar Shack in Ontario, the album is jam-packed with 12 ramped-up supersonic ear-scorching auditory delicacies. SMU is probably Wine Lips’ most ambitious undertaking to date, exploring new thematic territory while firmly maintaining their signature psych garage punk rock panache. You truly need to hear the album to believe it… And if you haven’t already guessed, more endless touring is booked for 2024. The wild ride continues!

"It's tough writing a new record when you're always on tour. The previous album seemed to be doing really well and at times I felt like I was hitting a wall creatively. Long story short, I think this album turned out great. Simon always brings a good vibe at the Sugar Shack and we were able to try some new ideas and capture the energy without straying too far from our roots. Excited to see where these songs take us in the future."Cam Hilborn

Charlie Bennett is a 24-year-old bedroom-pop artist from Birmingham. Inspired by Dayglow and Beabadoobee, he started releasing music in late 2020, having taught himself to record and produce from his bedroom during lockdown. A self-declared “bedroom pop artist”, Bennett was drawn to the genre’s creativity-first ethos: making music with whatever gear you have. This DIY stance proved itself in his breakout track “Is This Falling?” in September 2020. With 6 million streams and counting, it was recorded using a £20 microphone and an iPhone. Its success gave Bennett the confidence to double down on his musical instincts, releasing his debut EP “Duvet Days”, which was aptly named after using his bedding to soundproof his room whilst recording. Charlie Bennett has built a community of over 500,000 dedicated followers, nicknamed his “Strawbennetts”, who’ve helped stream Charlie’s music over 12.5 million times to date. He’s landed playlist spots on Spotify’s “Our Generation”, supported Will Joseph Cook’s recent UK tour, a slot at Reading Festival, plays on 6 Music, BBC Introducing and KCRW, and the attention of major label bosses, one of whom Bennett remembers chatting to on Zoom whilst folding his socks. Given what they continue to achieve from a student bedroom, it is clear this DIY champ is one to watch.

Ruth Lyon

Debut album 'Poems & Non Fiction' Out June 2025—a major waymark for a powerful songwriter who weaves deeply evocative narratives and potent meditations, with an artistry that balances delicacy and strength. Forged by her experiences as a disabled woman and a life-long sense of otherness, she explores the beautiful mess of existence, challenges social norms and ignites a journey towards self-acceptance, empowerment and perhaps most importantly, hope. “ I have surprised myself with the raw honesty in these songs and I hope these stories inspire healing and growth ”. Working with acclaimed producer John Parish (PJ Harvey, Aldous Harding) and influenced by artists like Adrienne Lenker, Fiona Apple and Moondog, the songs are rich with poetic nuance and the unconventional insight of a young life lived to capacity—a mesmerizing blend of analogue and angular indie-folk that gives as much attention to silence as sound, with understated yet muscular grooves. Shimmering between the abstract, the archetypal and the naked truth, meaning lingers just beneath the surface, daring listeners to both reach out and dig deep; to give emotion a solid, tangible shape.
