Information from the organisers

Sheffield, are you ready? Calves In The Dark are storming into Sidney & Matilda to bring you a night of unrelenting riffs, atmospheric grooves, and raw energy that’ll leave your head spinning. Known for their hypnotic melodies and seismic soundscapes, Calves In The Dark are here to drag you into the depths of rock heaven (or hell, depending on how you like it).

We also have some quality bands on show for support.

SWAN are a fast tempo band, revitalising the burning embers of bygone Sheffield rock scene. They utilise the skills from their rock forefathers in using distorted electric guitars and break neck drum tempos to get the crowd from static to bouncing. From distortion through to clever vocal lines, SWAN are capable of pushing Indie Rock to new heights.” - RGM

Formed in 2020, SWAN consists of Joe Duckworth (Vocals), Harry Allen and Oliver Thorpe (Guitars), Matt Shenton (Drums) and Rob Collins (Bass). The band have spent the recent years playing live around Sheffield and building an enthusiastic following, leading to headline shows at venues such as Corporation, Sidney and Matilda and Yellow Arch, as well as supporting both Frankie Beetlestone and ex-Inspiral Carpets frontman Tom Hingley.

But that’s not all. Joining them as special guests are Shattered Cogs, a band that takes the concept of hard-hitting to a whole new level. Expect jagged rhythms, mind-bending guitar work, and enough edge to cut through steel.

This is the kind of gig you’ll regret missing. A raw, intimate venue. Two bands at the top of their game. A night made for headbanging, shouting, and living in the moment.

Whether you’re a die-hard rock fan or just craving some live music with grit, this is your night. Bring your energy. Bring your friends. And bring the noise.
