Announcing a world exclusive collaboration, La Rumba team up with Dub Shack for the first time in 7 years to bring the Reggae legends and South African selector, Channel One and SNO to Sheffield alongside some of the city’s finest talent for a multi-genre heavyweight session at Sidney & Matilda on Friday the 6th of October.

We are thrilled to welcome one of the world’s biggest dub reggae crews, Channel One, back to Sheffield for Dub Shack and for La Rumba’s rescheduled show. The formidable selector Mikey Dread and a range of MCs play a unique selection of conscious reggae, exclusive dub plates and uplifting steppas. Channel One’s mission is “to break down barriers via reggae music” which has been achieved by playing to new audiences around the world. Notable highlights include winning the Redbull Culture Clash and taking reggae music worldwide on international tours alongside the likes of Major Lazer, Metalheadz, Boy Better Know, and curating lineups that feature everyone from Congo Natty to Mad Professor.

Next up we have La Rumba firm favourite and regular guest, SNO, joining us after a history of eclectic performances in Sheffield. SNO is a true party starter and selector flying the flag for South Africa, sharing hidden gems and modern classics from across the African continent. She’s one of the most exciting DJs around at the moment and absolutely killing it with regular appearances on NTS radio, at Beathearder, Keep it Unreal, Houghton, Dimensions, and We Out Here.

Completing the bill we have a Sheffield all-star lineup with MYNA, Rogue & CONNORDUB, La Rumba’s Román and the Dub Shack founder’s new alias, Spantu.
